The Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite (Model E06401PS2) is a legendary vintage, wired ergonomic keyboard. First introduced by Microsoft in February 1998, it remains a highly sought-after piece of hardware for collectors, retro computing enthusiasts, and ergonomic purists. It features a distinctive split, fixed-split, and gently sloped key layout wrapped in a classic white/cream plastic housing with a built-in wrist rest. TESTED, FULLY FUNCTIONAL. Need cleaned up, all keys and lights work. No cracks or missing parts. See photos for overall condition. Key Specifications & Architecture: Layout: Standard QWERTY layout with a full-size alphanumeric split and a complete numeric keypad on the right. Connection Type: Native PS/2 (6-pin round connector). It is fully compatible with modern PCs only if paired with an active PS/2-to-USB signal adapter. Switch Mechanism: Traditional rubber dome switches. They offer a quiet, tactile, slightly soft typing response. Physical Footprint: Roughly 19 inches long by 8.5 inches wide. It was engineered to be slightly more space-saving than the massive original 1994 Microsoft Natural Keyboard. Unique Design Components: Unlike standard layouts, the Elite condensed the directional arrow keys into a non-traditional layout and modified the standard navigation cluster (Page Up/Page Down) to fit its smaller frame.
